SPOTTED: NYC Summer Fashion Trends

For the past few weeks I’ve been monitoring the many trends of my fellow street walking city girls. The looks that keep popping up are creative, fun and affordable. This week I have tailored a post just for NYC summer fashion trends and all of the them are under $150.

Black and White
White House Black Market – $98

You can never go wrong with black and white. Adding some textured design can help spice it up a little, but keep your eyes peeled, it’s EVERYWHERE.

Free People – $49.95

Floral can come in all shapes and sizes, but keeping it simple seems is my personal favorite. Adding a cute hat or fun shoes can help add flavor to a simple color.

High Top Wedge Sneakers
Heart Soul Iona Wedge Sneaker – $54.95

These are my personal favorite trend for the summer. Not only can you wear them this summer, but also in the fall. They give you a little height while giving you some edge at the same time.

Kimono Sleeves
Body Central – $24.90

These sleeves have come in and out multiple times, but to be honest I don’t think you can ever go wrong with this look. They’re worn with dresses and tops, but they’re extremely transferable for work, play or even a date night.

Leather Jackets
G by Giuliana Rancic  – $34.97

Leather and faux leather are two more trends that are constantly coming in and out. This season I’m assuring you that they’re going to stick around for summer AND fall!

Low Heels
Aldo – $54.98

Thank God for this trend! Coming from a tall girl who barely wears heels, medium/small heels are another one of my favorite’s. If you just can’t break you high-heeled habit, try these in the office and bring your pump addiction to change into after work.

Color Blocking
Magaschoni at Bloomingdale’s – $138

Color blocking is one of the more creative featured designs I’m seeing. There are so many different ways that this can be done. This look, no matter how it’s done will turn heads wherever you are.

Pencil Skirts
Oasap.com – $37

Pencil skirts are AMAZING for the office. They are always in no matter what, but no they’re getting more popular than ever. If you’re business or business casual, go for a black or gray skirt. If you’re more into fashion or a more relacxed wardrobe industry than go all the way with something fun like this blue peplum.

Forever 21 – $15.99

Peter Pan tops are like the unsung hero of the spring/summer fashion. A lot of people have no idea what they’re called so they just call them a bib top. They had detail to a simple shirt while still giving you a little style at the same time.

Denim Jackets and Shirts
Forever 21 – $22.80

Denim is coming has arrived and it has arrived strong. Long-sleeved, sleeveless and jackets are the three main denim take-overs. At first I was a little skeptical, but it’s actually really cute paired with black jeans or a high wasted black skirt.

Charlotte Russe – $14.99

Stripes are another one of those trends that are sweeping the street walking fashionistas. They’re coming in all shapes and sizes, so watch out!

Last, but not least…FUN sunglasses! So many people (guys AND girls) are rocking the craziest glasses ever. Go bold and go for it.sunglasses stevemadden $38
